THE PAPER SHELTER BLOG HOP

Good Morning fellow crafters, and welcome to The Paper Shelter Blog Hop! Our blog hop is in celebration of The Paper Shelter reaching their 7th birthday on the 8th of December! This will be a two week challenge, and both Design Teams will be taking part.

The Hop is our way of inviting you to share in the celebrations with us, so our theme for this one is BIRTHDAY/CELEBRATIONS.

If you have hopped here from Bettina's blog, then you're heading in the right direction!  If not, then you'll want to head on back to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog to start again, so that you don't miss anyone out.  Our Design Teams have worked very hard and are showcasing the gorgeous images available from The Paper Shelter and each blog on the hop is offering one lucky visitor, from those who leave a comment, a digi of their choice, as well as the main prize, details of which are on the main Paper Shelter Challenge Blog.

I used a pre-printed digi stamp on my card called Fun and Sun. My papers are from the Prima Annalee paper stack. I used some white and gold lace and ribbon and a Martha Stewart border punch which I distressed using Tea Dye ink. The sentiment is from LOTV.
I added a variety of flowers, some lovely shells and gem hearts.

From here you'll need to hop on over to Vannessa's blog.  Don't forget to leave your comment for a chance to win your choice from all the fab digis available in the store! Hope you're having fun!

Hop!  Hop!  Hop!

The Paper Shelter Challenge #312 - Border Dies or Punches

I chose the Paper Shelter Ready for School digital stamp this week for a very special girl in my life. She loves to die her hair purple, is a student studying speech and hearing therapy and her uniform is this cololur scheme on the days she has clinic and does therapy.  On a recent trip she bought a beautiful blue, cream and brown backpack, so I really personalised the colouring of this stamp.  She is always on her cell phone so I added a Marianne Collectables cell phone die cut and stamp set. I used the corners of a die cut frame for the corners of my image which was cut with a Spellbinders die, distressed the edges with Dusty Concord distress ink, and stuck it onto some corrugated cardboard from an old box (Yes!  I’m one of those people who saves everything that can be used on a card).  My papers are from the Heartfelt Creations Timeless Amour paper pack.  I added a tag and used a Martha Stewart border punch on the edge.  I found this beautiful broad piece of lace in my stash and I tucked the tag into it then hot glued my flowers on.  I found a piece of string and made a bow to finish it off.

Love the corners of the die cut frame

The cell phone die and stamp set are a must for your next shopping spree

The Paper Shelter #310 - Make It Digital

This week I used the Mad about Shoes digital stamp. She is coloured with Copics and I used Barn Red distress ink around her.  My papers are from the FabScraps Mini Paper Collection. My "fourish corner" is cut on the Cameo.  I have added some gems, a range of flowers and some metal charms which I attached to the cutest metal hanger.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #308 - Layers, a bunch of them

This week I chose the Cute Dressmaker digital stamp. I coloured her in with Copics.  In line with the theme of layers, and bunches of them, I added layers of different papers which remind me of plaids and polka dot printed fabrics.  The background paper is from the stunning DCWV Lace and Linen paper pack which has a 3D look.  I distressed the edges of the papers by tearing them using a patterned ruler and adding Antique Linen distress ink.  I also used a corner embossing punch on the image. I have added some sewing themed buttons and lace flowers. I cut one lace flower and used the petals as leaves and a variety of other flowers and sticky pearls.  My sentiment is part of the Kaiser Craft Birthday stamp set.  I tried my hand at some Metallique Alchemy Art on the laser cut sewing machine and dressform and they turned out quite nice.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #306 - Pearls, gems and/or enamel dots

I used the stylish Executive Woman digital stamp on my card, coloured her with Copics and added some Glossy Accents to her glasses and cell phone. I cut her out on a Nesties die and distressed the edges using Tim Holtz distress ink. The sentiment is attached to a Spellbinders Shapeabilities die called Ornamental Tags Two. My papers are from the Heartfelt Creations Wildwood Cottage Collection. I have added a few random pearls and gems and a pearl flourish.  I have used flowers by 49 and Market.  They have such a stunning collection.
